Rick Kerry also showed up in his yellow Escort XR3, we both spent the day dodging TVR Tuscans, two Maranello Challenge Ferrari's, a Porsche GT3 car and various other serious pieces of machinery.
In between letting the rest of the test cars go past, a fault with the Golf soon emerged. At any less than 3/4 tank of petrol, the engine would die coming through Luffield. The only solution was to keep the tank topped up to the brim, not ideal with a car that is already 30kg overweight.
Other than that a good days testing was completed without any spins.
